Escrow Checklist for Domain Buyers

Always use a reputable escrow service such as Escrow.com for five-figure domain transfers. Never wire funds directly to a seller without a third-party hold.

Confirm registrar lock status, unlock the name, and push/pull via the registrar’s authorized transfer path. Keep WHOIS privacy settings consistent with your brand needs after close.

After transfer, update nameservers, set HTTPS redirects from any legacy URLs, and submit an updated sitemap to Search Console so equity consolidates on the new home.
